The only southeastern film festival hosted by the International Animated Film Association (Association Internationale du Film d’Animation)
ASIFAC Animation Festival Conference is a 2-day event set up by ASIFA-SOUTH, a non-profit 501c3 International Animation Society-South US Chapter. Originally Asifa-Atlanta, with expansion plans to the rest of the south US, Asifa-South’s festival’s mission is to spotlight talented creatives in the South as well as bringing international quality animation to the community. It is the only Southeastern Animation festival approved by ASIFA-International.
ASIFAC’s program includes 4 competitive screening blocks along with 2 days of professional panels and an opening event mixer and closing ceremony.
There are 4 awards:
Best in Show: Applies across all four blocks
Best in the South: Picked from our Southern Spotlight block
Animation for All: Applies across all four blocks
Audience Choice Award: One award for each block
The four program blocks are as follows:
Southern Spotlight Showcase: A showcase filled with animated shorts from students, independent animators and professionals in the south US. Only shorts made in the South US region qualifies for this program. Includes Maryland + Texas. Animation from this block will qualify to be screened on International Animation Day celebration with partner chapters/ festivals around the world.
Saturday Morning Cartoon (Kid Friendly Block): These are entries that can be enjoyed by families and kids of a young age.
International Block: For our animator friends across borders, oceans, continents, enter your shorts for this block.
Animated Feature: The most ambitious of categories, this category is dedicated to the selection of an animated feature accompanied by some selected shorts.
This two-day animation conference and festival will also include panels by professional animators in the local industry. Additionally, this year’s jury is made up of talent from studios working here in the southeast and abroad.
